Our Mission, Our Story

Serving Greensboro With Integrity, Quality, and Family Values Since 1975.

The ABS story

ABS The Clean Machine has deep roots in the Greensboro community. The company was founded in 1975 by Doug Hodgson, who began as a small two-man crew with his brother Eric cleaning windows and pressure washing driveways for local homeowners. With a truck, a few tools, and a shared commitment to honest work, they built a reputation for reliability that still defines us today. What started as a simple window-cleaning service grew year after year as customers began requesting more help around their homes.

Since 1975

Today, ABS The Clean Machine is owned by Chris Troise, who proudly continues the legacy Doug built: strong values, honest pricing, and a team that treats customers like family. Though our services and technology have evolved, our mission remains the same as it was in 1975—to help homeowners enjoy cleaner, safer, healthier homes with work they can trust.

Keith Hodgson

Technician since 2023

Keith was born and raised right here in Greensboro, NC. At just 16 years old, ABS The Clean Machine became his first job, giving him early experience in hands-on service work and customer care. After five years with the company, he explored other opportunities, working as a server at Abbotswood Retirement Community and later as a technician at Discount Tire.

Those experiences helped him grow both personally and professionally, and he eventually returned to ABS The Clean Machine, where he remains a valued member of the team. Known for his positive attitude and steady work ethic, Keith enjoys contributing to a company he has been connected to since his teenage years. Outside of work, he loves playing video games, exploring nature, and studying the Bible—interests that reflect both his curiosity and his grounded, thoughtful personality.

In 2002, he relocated to Greensboro, NC, where he quickly became part of the ABS The Clean Machine team, joining just a month after arriving.

When Eric started, the company was a small two-man crew with only him and founder Doug Hodgson. Over the years, he has played a key role in helping the team grow to as many as seven technicians. Known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and friendly attitude, Eric has become a trusted and longstanding member of the ABS family.
